Trauma in the curriculum: exploring the attitudes of journalism educators to teaching trauma-Informed literacy
This project is a follow up study based on a global survey with journalism educators conducted in 2021 by Ola Ogunyemi and Lada Price, leaders of JETREG. We aim to assess the awareness of trauma among journalism educators globally, experiences of teaching and/or barriers to teaching trauma, and their attitudes toward embedding trauma literacy into journalism curriculum. We will also explore educators’ perspectives on journalists’ coping strategies and/or newsroom support that may have pedagogical relevance.
